Book awards…like the Derby runners, we’re ready to go!

May 3, 2012  |  News

As the Derby runners are making their final preparations in advance of this Saturday’s run for the roses, books are getting ready to run their races in awards competitions.

I’m thrilled to say that this week RAJA, Story of a Racehorse was a solid SHOW (Bronze) in the Independent Publisher IPPY book award category Juvenile Fiction AND has top odds as one of the favorites in the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Book awards as one of the three finalists for young reader fiction ages 8-12. We’ll be doing lots of long jogs, fast works, and getting good shoeing, accupuncture, chiropractic sessions, massages, extra feed supplements and the like in preparation for the final run at the awards ceremony in New York at Book Expo on June 4th.  Wonder what the track will be like…

And…if you are wondering who to bet on in the Derby….consider that Union Rags won @ Saratoga, then again at the Champagne Stakes and Fountain of Youth and had a not so good race at the Florida Derby…for those of you that have read RAJA, does this sound just a tad familiar?? For long odds, pick Went the Day Well….

Da Da Da Dum Diggety Dum Diggety Dum Dum Dum Da!

The call to the Post!

Kick on!
