Welcome to RAJARACEHORSE.COM!

The big news, of course, is that RAJA, Story of a Racehorse is out!
If you haven’t read Raja’s story yet, look for RAJA, Story of a Racehorse at your favorite tack store or Amazon, Kindle and Nook. You can get a signed copy at oldbowpublishing.com
I also write a blog about retired racehorses for the Horse Collaborative, a new equine online community. It’s called WAY BEYOND THE TRACK.
Here are two postings: Stories From Beyond The Track….WAY Beyond the Track and; 2012 – The year of the “Sport Thoroughbred?”
It’s February and it’s time to train! For the Derby; the spring steeplechase races; events; shows; and, of course, the OLYMPICS! It’s all happening.
Trainers are mapping out their training and competition schedules, horses and riders are getting legged up and doing their homework and the lucky ones in warm climates are starting their seasons. It’s winter here in Vermont and we’re riding indoors, going to the gym and dreaming of spring road trips. I’ll try to follow some of the news of Racing, Show Jumping, Steeplechasing, Dressage and the overall Equestrian world (everything RAJA likes!) and post videos and updates of interest.
Here’s a program I am a huge fan of . . . the Retired Racehorse Trainer Challenge. Be sure to follow this and vote for your favorite online on Feb 25 when the three fresh off-the-track-Thoroughbreds (Brazilian Wedding, Four x the Trouble and Solidify) and their trainers meet at Horse World Expo in Harrisburg, PA, to show what they have accomplished with a month of training!
Oh, I forgot to mention that I donate a percentage of RAJA sales to three retirement re-homing groups:
Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred Rescue (I modeled the group in the RAJA on them!)
CANTER (The Communication Alliance to Network Thoroughbred Ex-Racehorses)
The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
These are just a few of many groups doing good work. See my links page (link) for more.
Finally, of course, my SPRING BOOK TOUR is coming together. Check out the events page to see if I’m coming to a spot near you!
